Recurring Gabourey Sidibe Lines Up TV Gig
Fresh off their whirlwind season of awards for his work on the big screen is “Precious” Star Gabourey Sidibe went back to school.
Gabourey was tapped for a recurring role on Showtime’s comedy series Black “The Big C”, the cable network announced Tuesday.
The actress had already hosted the pilot episode of the series. ”
“The Big C” stars Laura Linney as Cathy, an S-repressed teacher / wife / mother who vows to take his left after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Gabourey a quickwitted Cathy’s students in the class play, while Oliver Platt plays Cathy Mann.
Production on 13 new episodes will begin in May and the series will debut in late summer.
Gabourey, Golden Globe, Oscar, SAG - and far more deserving - nominations for her title role in “Precious” to proclaim, even in his next movie role.
